1. Identify subjects when you know who they are.
This includes people and pets. Also, identify where
the photo was taken, and who took it.
2. Tell us the story behind the picture. Readers tell
us the photos would not have the same impact without the stories.
3. Do not write on the back of photos. You can
damage photos with hard-tipped pencils and pens,
and ink can transfer from the back of one photo to
the front of another. For best results, provide caption
information on a separate piece of paper. n
